Jamco Fruit Spreads Babka (Swirled Bread )
✨ Ingredients (1 loaf)
Dough:
- 250g strong bread flour
- 30g sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 7g instant yeast
- 2 eggs
- 60ml warm milk
- 80g butter (softened)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Filling:
- Jamco fruit spread ( any flavour)
Syrup (optional but bakery-style):
- 50g sugar
- 50ml water
Instructions
- Make the dough
- Mix flour, sugar, salt, yeastAdd eggs, milk, vanilla → form dough
- Knead 8–10 mins until smooth
- Add butter
Knead in softened butter until the dough is soft and elastic. - First rise
Cover and let rise 1–2 hours until doubled.
- Roll & fill
- Roll dough into a rectangle
- Spread a smooth layer of Jamco spread (not too thick)
- Shape the babka
- Roll tightly into a logCut lengthwise
- Twist the two halves together (cut side up)
- Second rise
Place in loaf tin → rest 45–60 mins
- Bake
180°C for 30–35 minutes until golden. - Brush with syrup (optional)
