Appetiser Jamco Fig Fruit Spread, Baked Brie & Pistachio Crunch
Creamy brie topped with a smooth, glossy layer of Jamco Fig Fruit Spread, finished with a delicate pistachio crunch.
Ingredients (Serves 4–6)
- 1 whole wheel of brie (200–250g)
- 3–4 tbsp Jamco Fig Fruit Spread (smooth only)
- 2 tbsp shelled pistachios (lightly crushed)
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp honey (optional, for shine)
- Fresh thyme (optional)
- Freshly cracked black pepper
Method
1. Prepare the brie
- Place the whole brie in a small oven-safe dish.
- Lightly score the top round (just shallow cuts — don’t go deep).
2. Bake
- Bake at 180°C (fan 160°C) for 10–12 minutes
- The inside should be soft and melted, but still holding shape.
3. Prepare the fig glaze
- Warm the Jamco Fig Fruit Spread until smooth and glossy.
- Optional: mix with a touch of honey for a richer finish.
4. Assemble
- Remove brie from oven
- Spoon the fig fruit spread over the top — smooth, even layer
- Sprinkle crushed pistachios over for texture
5. Finish
- Drizzle olive oil lightly
- Add thyme + black pepper for aroma and contrast
How to Serve
- Place in the centre → shareable centrepiece
- Serve with:
- Crackers
- Sliced apples or pears
- Breadsticks (optional — but not required)
