Jamco Fruit Spreads Babka (Swirled Bread )

 Ingredients (1 loaf)

Dough:

  • 250g strong bread flour
  • 30g sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 7g instant yeast
  • 2 eggs
  • 60ml warm milk
  • 80g butter (softened)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Filling:

  • Jamco fruit spread ( any flavour)

Syrup (optional but bakery-style):

  • 50g sugar
  • 50ml water


Instructions

  1. Make the dough
    1. Mix flour, sugar, salt, yeastAdd eggs, milk, vanilla → form dough
    1. Knead 8–10 mins until smooth
  2. Add butter
     Knead in softened butter until the dough is soft and elastic.
  3. First rise
     Cover and let rise 1–2 hours until doubled.

  • Roll & fill
    • Roll dough into a rectangle
    • Spread a smooth layer of Jamco spread (not too thick)
  • Shape the babka
    • Roll tightly into a logCut lengthwise
    • Twist the two halves together (cut side up)
  • Second rise
     Place in loaf tin → rest 45–60 mins

  • Bake
     180°C for 30–35 minutes until golden.
  • Brush with syrup (optional)
     Gives that glossy, professional bakery finish
